Avoid this firm at all costs.......or wear the huge costs for the unwary........... whilst visiting family in the lovely city of toowoomba we had the rear strut fail on our landrover discovery..... as the rear door could no longer close i took it down to Whippels who were extremley helpful until we mentioned we would be taking it back to newcastle to have it fixed as the part would take two days to arrive from melbourne..... as soon as this info was tendered a diagnostic fee (this was a charge to tell us the strut was broken apparently) of $150 was mentioned ...... totally non negotiable as the vehicle was 1 month out of wareanty and we had no relationship with whippels to fall back on...... Imagine our reaction when they rang back 15 minutes later to tell us that the charge to get our car back was now $400!!!!! ..... The strategy is very openly to rip as much money out of any individual unfortunate enough to fall into their clutches for any reason...... a lovely stay in Tooowomba and we will return again but NEVER again to Whippels

Absolutely dodgey salesmen. Found a late year used car through their online website, rang Wippels Toowoomba and told them I wasnt local and wanted to see if it was worth my time driving out there. I was promised a cash drive-away price on the car and a price on a trade that would make it in the ball park of (my) budget. Made the two hour drive out to the yard and spent atleast an hour with the saleman inspecting & test driving. When we talked figures the best offer they could give was a final figure with the trade GREATER than the guaranteed sale price I was given on the phone! As I was walking out they then had the nerve to try and sell me several older cars!My recent experience with used car salesmen had me happy that these scummy practices had stopped. NOT AT WIPPELS! Old school time wasting, dodgey sale people, through and through. Avoid if you value your time and money!
Terrific company to deal with. Both the new car division in particular Subaru & the service department. Everyone truly professional and sincere regarding service and going the extra mile. Standout guy in Subaru service is Rob. He exceeds expectations every time.
