Ive used this medical centre for a number of years because I really like the Doctor. Unfortunately one receptionist is constantly rude and condescending. This week was the last time I will be going back after how she has treated me. I will take my money to another centre who will treat me properly.
I have been seeing Dr. David Simpson and Dr. Ash ever since I moved back to Toowoomba late July last year. I have found both doctors to be very caring and helpful with the management of my brain cancer. Both doctors listen to what I say regarding my medication and I highly recommend the Hooper Medical Centre to anyone moving to Toowoomba. Vicki the main receptionist is a very helpful caring person who goes out of her way to help patients at the Hooper Medical Centre.
Only reason why there is a star is so I can submit my review. My son was involved in a work related accident this morning (hot water burn). He went over to the medical centre as it was within walking distance of his work. He wanted a GP to look at his burn. He was told they don't do that here and told to go next door to the chemist. Your duty of care is negligent and as a representative (the receptionist) of the medical practice, you should be ashamed and in desperate need of retraining. Your colleagues/peers in the medical centre we ended up going to were flabbergasted at your lack of professionalism and irresponsibility. Burns are serious conditions!
I called as a new patient and received terrible customer service from the receptionist. She let me know they do accept new patients however her tone was very negative. She then proceeded to ask why I would not see my regular GP. I was looking for a new GP as mine had moved to another country. She was very rude and unwilling to assist. I would never look at using this GP due to the horrible experience with the receptionist.
Dr. Simpson is the genuine article. He diagnosed my slipped disc when other foreign doctors couldn't even be bothered with an X-ray. Bed side manner seems to be lacking with many new doctors coming to Australia, but Dr. Simpson is old school.
